Message Now, i'm going to rant a bit, obviously im a bit frustrated. I've had a long week, Sunday is my birthday, I'm getting old, and need to yell at someone.

However, prior to reading this - you should know that I think Z1 as an excellent company - If you have never used Z1 before, I highly suggest you do use them, as they are a viable part to the 300zx community - and this post is not a flame on them, but rather to be seen as constructive criticism, as I would do for, and I have done previously about any other company I deal with.

So, I order some chrome parts from Z1. All well and good, very happy - minimal frustrations. I get everything in one piece and relatively on time, I've ordered from them a lot over the last few weeks.

I order a chrome balance tube - it's out of stock. OK, I'll wait... 2 weeks go by, still nothing. I call - and they have one, so I ask them to ship it. Wonderful.

I receive the part today, only to find out that the quality is below par. I spoke with Z1, and they did offer me a full refund, but I'd rather just clean the part up and get it on the car so I can actually drive her, rather than wait another two weeks for a part.

Now, I do understand that Z1 doesn't chrome the parts themselves - they send them out to get chromed. So they are limited to the actual quality of the chrome, however - they have the full responsibility if they choose to sell poor quality chrome.

However, being as such that they do sell them, regardless of who does the chroming, Z1 should take some pride in the quality of chrome parts that they sell.

As I own 2 companies, when I sub out work to be done under my company name - I make sure the end quality of whatever is being done is up to my standards, and not the standards of the person I used to sub out work. If the person I sub out does poor quality work, they don't get a second chance, they get fired.

With that being said, here is my constructive criticism to Z1.

First, you should notify on your site if parts are out of stock, this will let users know that there will be a wait, rather then just taking orders and not being able to fulfill them in a timely manner.

You are one of the biggest suppliers of parts, I as well as many others appreciate the work you do for us.

Take pride in the quality of the parts you sell. The poor job that the guy you hire to do your chroming, reflects on you - because you allow it to happen.

My suggestion, find a different guy to chrome your parts. If that requires paying more to get them done right, and with better quality - then increase the prices for the chromed parts so that you still make profit.

Now I'm not saying that the chrome needs to be perfect, but there is a degree of quality you expect to receive when paying for chrome parts, and this quality as I mentioned prior, is below par.

I now must clean and try to polish this part to get it right, something I shouldn't have to do - it should have been done right in the first place.

i dunno.. maybe I'm just anal.
